Dolores Marie Babich

Dolores "Doe" Marie Babich passed away at the age of 88 on April 25, 2024 with her family by her side in Emerald Hills, CA. She was born to Eugene and Irene "Jackie" Cashman on September 2nd, 1935 in San Francisco, CA. She graduated from St. Paul's High School in 1953. Dolores was an original fixture at Fireman's Fund Insurance in the Financial District, becoming independent at a young age. At age 28, she eloped to Reno with the love of her life, James "Jim" Babich, to whom she was married 61 years. She had two children: Nicole "Niki" and Julie, and moved to Emerald Hills as a full-time mother. Dolores raised her children, and multitudes of animals including horses, goats, chickens, dogs, quail and endless kittens. Doe returned to the workforce after her children were grown, representing the town of Woodside where she held the position of Town Clerk for over a decade, as well as a member of the city of Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce.

Dolores, a breast cancer survivor, is predeceased by her parents, her brother Gene and Sister Verna, she leaves behind a brother Robert. She was the very proud GrandmaDoe to her adoring granddaughters Sasha and Sophia Turic. Doe was an avid reader, gardener and crossword puzzle expert. Dolores loved to travel and spent time in Spain, Ireland, New Zealand, cruising the Greek and Caribbean islands, she especially treasured her time throughout the islands of Hawaii. Dolores was a devout Catholic and a regular at Sunday Mass at Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Portola Valley. Doe was known for her generosity, kindness, quick-wit and lively spirit. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind many cherished friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and will greatly missed by her family.
