Joy Baldwin, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully and gracefully on the evening of June 10, surrounded by loved ones. Born Joyce Helen Aigner in 1942 in Oak Park, Illinois, she was the daughter of Alwin C. Aigner and Lois Baldwin Aigner, who are deceased. She was also predeceased by her brother David Baldwin Aigner.
Joy is survived by her husband, Wayne Clifford Records; her two children, Todd Aigner Laurence and Pamela Joy Laurence Hyde (married to Julian Hyde); and grandchildren Vivian, Christian and Keenan Laurence and Sebastian and Theodore Hyde. She is also survived by her brother Stephen Aigner and his family and her cousin, Gail Hines.
She lived for many years in Palo Alto, where her two children attended public schools.
Joy loved her family, singing, painting, skiing and helping others. She was a gifted artist who began painting at age 7 and won many awards throughout her lifetime for her watercolor paintings and photography. A lifelong philanthropist with a passion for causes that supported and strengthened families in need, Joy served as a trustee of the J. G. Aigner Foundation since 1982. In 2014 she established the Henrietta Aigner and Joy Baldwin Family Foundation, the leadership of which she has entrusted to her children and grandchildren. Joy's commitment to philanthropy brought her great pleasure and inspires her family to carry on her tradition of community involvement in support of charitable organizations.
