Juliet Cameron
July 25, 1913-April 20, 2006
Menlo Park, California

Juliet Cameron, 92, died on April 20, 2006, at The Forum in Cupertino.

She was born on July 25, 1913, in Hamilton, Ohio, to William and Lorena Schellenbach. In 1935 she earned a Fine Arts degree from Miami University, where she was the society editor of the Miami University newspaper, president of Chi Omega Sorority and a member of the university's art honor society. After college she worked as a fashion illustrator for dress shops in Cincinnati, Ohio and San Francisco.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Emmet Cameron, whom she had married in San Francisco in 1939. They lived in San Mateo; Verona, N.J.; Bloomington, Ind.; and, since 1951, Menlo Park, Atherton and Los Altos.

In addition to raising her three children and participating in the PTAs of all their schools, she was active in the Children's Home Society, the Children's Health Council, Chi Omega Sorority, Palo Alto and Los Altos Art Clubs, and a member of Los Altos United Methodist Church. She loved music, tennis, golf and swimming. She was a member of Sharon Heights and Los Altos Country Clubs. She and Emmet were also avid world travelers.

A gifted artist, she painted, showed and sold her work until the age of 87. She was a member of the Society of Western Artists and part owner of an art gallery in Los Altos. Friends and family say her humor, talent, and love will be dearly missed.

She is survived by a son, Don Cameron, of Mountain View; two daughters, Carol Moody, of Medford, Ore., and Barbara Slaton, of Menlo Park; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
