Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she moved to San Francisco's Bayview Hunters Point in 1945. She married Ocie Watkins in 1967 and their family settled in Menlo Park's Belle Haven community in 1968.
She was a retired employee of Bank of America, American Express and a dedicated genealogist and family historian. She also served on the Parks and Recreation Commission for Menlo Park from 2001-2009.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters Veronica Hodges-Watkins and Natasha Watkins-Lowery (Ernest); six grandchildren; Chantelle Percelle (Ronnie), Ca'Shea Airy, Jamauri Bowles, Ernest Marshall, Chayse and Silas Lowery; great-grandchildren CiRon, CiRai and Ryder Percelle; Siblings Barbara Armstrong Walls, Louis J. Armstrong, Jr., Brenda S. Williams, Mary M. Armstrong, Lionel J. Armstrong, Carolyn J. Tanksley, Charles Armstrong and Charlene Armstrong-Brown, one uncle Roscoe Allen of Pasadena, CA and many nieces and nephews. Parents Mildred E. DeLavallade Armstrong and Louis J. Armstrong Sr., one brother Lawrence 'Chuckie' Armstrong and one grandson Chaz Lowery preceded her in death.
Friends may visit Thursday, March 31, starting at 4:00 p.m. at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City.
Mass celebrating Patricia M. Armstrong Watkins life will be held at 11:00 a.m. at All Hallows Catholic Church, 1400 Newhall St., San Francisco, CA 94124. Burial to follow at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo. Repast at Onetta Harris Community Center, 100 Terminal, Menlo Park, Ca 94025.
