Richard Leon Hoadley 10/08/45 -09/22/26

Richard was born in Deposit, New York in October 1945 to Leon and Marge Hoadley. The family moved to Southern California when Rich was a boy. He attended El Monte high school and loved playing sports including basketball, baseball, football, and tennis. Rich ventured to northern California to attend San Jose State and remained in the Bay Area throughout his life. At the beginning of his professional career he welcomed his first daughter, Leanne. Rich worked for Clorox and then Procter and Gamble. Rich met his late wife Karen Smith in 1970 and they married in 1975. In 1978, the same year Rich’s second daughter Megan was born, Rich and Karen started Bay Brokerage Company out of their house in Belmont. Bay Brokerage continued to grow and thrive under Rich’s warm and generous personality. They moved the business to Laurel Street in San Carlos in 1982 and the family moved to Redwood City in 1986. Rich had an honest approach to business and sales and a genuine caring and appreciation for all of Bay’s many employees. Rich was always athletic and played on several local basketball and baseball teams. He enjoyed a competitive game of tennis and he loved golf.  Rich was a member of Sharon Heights Country Club starting in 1991. He loved to travel the world, as long as there was a golf course to play at the destination. Rich met his current wife, Mina Parivash, in 2016 and they were married in 2018. Rich and Mina enjoyed traveling to Europe and New York and their second home in La Quinta. Rich was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Rich was always immaculate about his appearance and loved telling a good joke. He loved life and he loved people. Rich is survived by his wife Mina Parivash, Rich’s daughters Leanne Hoadley (partner Brian Clothier) and Megan Kawkab (husband Mark), grandsons Matthew and Michael Kawkab. Rich’s loss is felt deeply by his family and friends however they are comforted knowing that their father / grandfather is at peace and no longer in pain. A memorial reception for remembrance will be held at a later date.
