Robert Flint Mitchell
June 26, 1966-Jan. 15, 2025
Menlo Park and Redwood City, California

Robert Mitchell of Redwood City passed away on January 15, 2025, of a short illness. He was born at Stanford Hospital to Ralph Flint Mitchell, Jr. and Lieselotte (Trautner) Mitchell, and grew up in Los Altos with his brother Mark Trautner Mitchell. Robert graduated from Los Altos High School and attended Foothill College studying computers and graphics. On passing of his parents, Robert lived for a time with his brother and sister-in-law in Menlo Park.

Robert was a special person and met the challenges in life straight-on, and learning to not just survive but thrive and be self-reliant. He became fiercely independent, gained strength living on his own in Redwood City, and loved working and being a “mate” at Trader Joes in Menlo Park and earlier as a driver for Eat Club. He lived life with unconditional love for everyone, buoyant optimism, and as he would often say “not looking back but forward.” Robert had great pride in his work and valued his mates. He loved hiking, being with family and friends, celebrating holidays, making memorable photo books, cheering on local sports teams, visiting Wilsonia and walking amongst the giant Sequoia, working out and being fit, and everything Star Trek. Robert’s family are immensely proud of what he achieved. He will be deeply missed.

Robert is survived by his brother Mark, sister-in-law Patricia Yates Mitchell, and their two sons Alden Spencer Mitchell and Flint Trautner Mitchell. He is now at peace with his mother and father.
