On March 21, 2022, RoseAnn (Teegardin) Battelle passed away peacefully at The Forum of Rancho San Antonio in Cupertino, California. Born on September 21, 1926, in Groveport, Ohio, RoseAnn met and married Bard at the Palo Alto Methodist Church. They designed and built their home in Portola Valley in 1957 and remained active in the community until they moved to The Forum in 1991. She and Bard were inseparable until his passing in 2019. She and her husband, Bard, are survived by three daughters, Beth, Sarah, and Martha, and three grandchildren.
As a young woman, RoseAnn moved to New York City to attend the Parsons School of Design. Her time in New York was one of the highlights of her early life, with friends and Broadway shows. After she relocated to California, RoseAnn went on to a career in interior design, collaborating with local designers Elaine Clintsman and Phyllis Austin as well as many of her friends.
RoseAnn was active within the community, championing women and children. She supported the YWCA, and Stanford Children’s Hospital as a volunteer cook at Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park every Friday for over 40 years, where she and her team prepared culinary delights for the Guild’s guests. RoseAnn was always there to support her daughters’ activities, including Camp Fire Girls, high school band, and many more. She loved travel, and adventured around the world with her husband, from Europe to Korea to Australia, and most notably, a three-month European excursion she planned for the entire family. RoseAnn remained active at The Forum, participating in all of the activities until the very end.
