Sarah E. (Pehrson) Drake, 90, passed in peace, surrounded by her family, on Aug. 15 at her home in Palo Alto, Calif. She was the widow of Emerson L. Drake.

Sarah was born June 1, 1922, in St. Peter, Minn., the daughter of the late John and Emma (Wolfe) Pehrson. She graduated from the Peabody Nursing School in 1944 and worked as an RN at the VA hospital before wedding her husband on Sept. 17, 1948. She was a devoted wife and mother and dear and loyal friend. All who knew and loved her will remember her terrific sense of humor and how she loved to laugh. Sarah is survived by a son, Greg Drake of Hayward; and a daughter, Rebecca Drake of Palo Alto, with whom she lived. She was predeceased by four brothers: Howard, Charles, Willard and Franklin Pehrson.

A service will take place Friday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, 950 Santa Cruz Ave., Menlo Park, CA 94025.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Sarah Drake's memory be made to the Palo Alto Humane Society, PO Box 60715, Palo Alto, CA 94306.
