Shirley Styles, 86, a 54-year resident of Menlo Park and a Clinical Hypnotherapist, died Dec. 29, 2016.

She was born June 14, 1930, in Hebron, Indiana. She moved often around the country with her family as a child and established her home in California after graduating from U.C. Berkeley, where she meet her husband and life partner, James B. Styles.

They settled in Menlo Park in 1962, where they raised their 6 children. She spent a great deal of their early years volunteering at her children's schools.

Shirley was also an activist in many community efforts in the 60's and 70's.

She is predeceased by her husband, James Styles. She is survived by her children: David, Donald, Gerald, Marjorie, Kenneth and Windy and by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
