Ted Lee
Jan. 20, 1962-June 21, 2023
Capay, California
It snowed in Palo Alto on the day Theodore was born! Known to everyone as Ted, he was the youngest of the 5 children of Cathrine Lockridge Lee JD and Philip R. Lee MD. Ted grew up in Portola Valley, riding ponies, swimming, playing and having fun with his cousins. He went to Peninsula School (a family tradition), then Terman Junior High, and graduated from Gunn High School. He earned his BS in Accounting from Chico State with the highest honors. Later, his inquisitive nature led him to study to become an Emergency Medicine Technician and a Certified Nursing Assistant. He was certified as an Ambulance Driver. Ted had experience in a range of work environments from a young age, exploring opportunities and searching for his calling. He worked as a driver for Super Shuttle where he harnessed his driving skills, and enjoyed working for Video Regency where he developed his passion for movies and the history of film. He worked in accounting, at his mothers law office and also did a stint as a taxi driver(before Uber wrecked that) in San Francisco. In 2001 Ted moved to the beautiful Capay Valley in central California. He enjoyed his dog Stella and his cat Ace, gardening, he grew lovely roses and delicious table grapes. In 2004 he began working at the Cache Creek Casino. After working in several different departments he found his fit in Table Games. He enjoyed Table Games and the people he worked with. He liked dealing blackjack professionally, and on family occasions, he taught us how to play the game with chips and all. Ted loved being an Uncle and mentor and conveyed his aesthetics and values of autonomy, independent thinking and problem-solving to his niece, nibbling and nephews. He shared his passion for with his sister Margie and his love of the NBA especially the Warriors with his grand-nephew Dimitris. His hobby of sports photography took him to Winter and Summer Olympic Games and on travels around the world. He was an avid reader of history and political science, always keeping up with the latest news and world developments. Ted will be remembered for his hip sense of style, big smile, and contagious laugh. He will be missed by all of us, his siblings Do, Paul, Amy and Margie, his niece Dimitra, niblings Rachel & Sophie, and nephews Yiannis & Theo, grand niece and nephew Myrto and DImitri, his many cousins, friends and his faithful companions Stella the dog and Ace the cat. We are grateful that he passed away peacefully.
