Alice C. Gilbert passed away peacefully at age 91. Born in Long Island, New York, Alice was a resident of Woodside for 57 years. She was a 1974 graduate of San Jose State University, with a BA in English with honors. She worked for the San Mateo County Library, Belmont branch, for a number of years.

She is survived by daughters, Jane Hutton, Valerie Matonis, and Linda Marelich; and a son, William Gilbert; several nieces and nephews, and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by John M. Gilbert, her husband of 67 years, and by a daughter, Eileen Gilbert Hill.

A memorial Mass will be held on October 19th at 1 pm at St. Denis Parish, 2250 Avy Ave., Menlo Park, CA. Interment will be private.
