Lasting Memories

James Stephen Stutsman
Aug. 3, 1964-Dec. 12, 2015
Arcata, California

One of the funniest people to ever walk this Earth, James Stephen Stutsman, age 51, unexpectedly passed away December 12, 2015.

A former May Day King, Jimmy happily lived in Woodside, where he attended Woodside Nursery, Elementary and High Schools.

He left our town to attend college in Eureka, California, and never returned but to occasionally play music at the Pioneer Saloon and see friends and family.

He is predeceased by his brothers Wayne and Gary; his sister Lara, as well as his parents Connie and Ed Barthold. He is survived by his sisters Christine Ryland, Leslie Stepp, and Holly Sichel, his lifelong "Big Brother" Marvin Holtzberg, his girlfriend Liza Enriquez.

Donations may be made to Big Brothers of America or the local musician of your choice.

So sorry to learn of James' passing! I had several fun conversations with him before, during and after Connie's generous donation to CCIS at Stanford. We were hoping to bring him to share his music with us at Stanford. I'm just sorry that this will never happen....such a charming and handsome young man! He will be missed!

Easy to recall Jimmy as a young elementary school student. He was full of charm and I always waited for some unexpected thought coming (and often) from him! He had a lot of his mother's esprit.

So sad to read of James' passing. A charming person and so caring. His support of his mother's memory at The Bechtel International Center and the Community Committee for International Students at Stanford (CCIS) is still being appreciated by so many students. He will be missed.
