Jane E. Ciochetti died of complications of Alzheimer's Disease on February 25, 2014. She was 84. Born in Evanston, Ill., Jane graduated from New Trier High School in 1948. Drawn by the sunshine and her love of horseback riding, she attended the University of Arizona, where she met her future husband, Thomas Ciochetti. They were married after her graduation at her mother and stepfather's home in Wilmette, Ill., and promptly moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where Tom was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They also lived in Dallas, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica before finally settling down in Portola Valley in 1963. Here Jane enjoyed her time as a member of the Newcomers' Club, was a mainstay of the Ladera Recreation District's Saturday Night barbecues, and eventually became an enthusiastic golfer in the Nine-Hole Ladies group at Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club. Jane also had a love of adventure. While in college she attended summer school at the University of Hawaii, and spent a summer in Mexico with friends. She later traveled extensively with her sister, Evey (Harrison), and her daughter, Robin (Willard). Predeceased by her husband and by her daughter Julie (Seagraves), she is survived by her oldest child, Tom Ciochetti, Jr., and her youngest child Robin (Willard), as well as by her grandchildren Thomas and Jordan Seagraves, Indigo Ciochetti, and Kelly and John Willard. Although she eventually started forgetting names and faces, she never lost her cheerful attitude and sense of humor. When she couldn't find a word or finish a sentence, she would laugh, often making a joke. She passed away peacefully, leaving us with a smile and the memory of a life enjoyed.
