Kathryn passed away peacefully at home in her sleep in Menlo Park, CA on August 7 2015.
She was a true Northern Californian who loved her community. She graduated from El Cerrito High in 1953.
Kathryn Patricia was a woman of style, generosity, grace, and sophistication. She loved life and cultivated beauty wherever she went. She was an innovative and creative Interior Designer.
She was a beloved chef & personal assistant for a number of well-known SF families.
Patricia was a leader; she made her community a better place. She volunteered every election and was politically engaged.
Kathryn adored theater and often volunteered at the Curran, the Geary and Redwood City theaters, as well as the Lucy Stern in Palo Alto.
Our Mom embraced Gay Pride; she was as colorful and vibrant as the rainbow.
Mom was an avid Giants & Warriors fan.
Her motto she lived always was ?Do the Right Thing?.
She was a foodie and kept up on all the new restaurants. To honor her life, please donate blood as she did regularly, or donate to your nearest Animal Shelter. Thank you. Rest in Peace, Momma, with love always and forever.
Blood will be donated at a Missoula, MT blood bank ~ in admiration and memory of Ms. Bowers.
No words can/will ever express how dearly I will miss my Momma. She has, and will, always be with me & walking by my side...loving me, guiding me, showing me the way.
Mom donated blood regularly, she was a card-carrying member of Red Cross. Her birthday is coming up on Sept 19. My sister and I will be donating blood on that day in memory of her. That's a huge thing for me cause just thinking about it makes my knees go weak...Who else wants to join Kai and I in pledging to donate blood?
I am incredibly grateful to have taken the time to fly to visit Patricia the last week of her life here. She was incredibly kind and so generous. She voiced a relief, not knowing what our reunion would reveal...we laughed together and I got to hear wonderful stories about her life. I just came across a letter from her this week while organizing my office...actually there was not letter; just another one of her tear sheet from the newspaper...thinking of me. I will always hold my time with Kari, Kai, Kaleb and Patricia near and dear to me.
