Lasting Memories
Leanne Gail King
Aug. 18, 1959-Oct. 19, 2012
Castro Valley, California
Leanne Gail King passed unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 19, 2012, at the young age of 53. She was an extraordinary woman who everyone said was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.
Born Aug. 18, 1959, in San Jose, Calif., she grew up in Palo Alto in the tight-knit neighborhood of Green Meadow, where she graduated from Cubberley High School in 1977. She participated in gymnastics and drama. Leanne was married to Buford King for 30 years. They resided in Castro Valley for 25 years where they raised their three children.
Leanne attended the Neighborhood Church, and was a community volunteer in the PTA and for her kids sports teams from preschool throughout their high school years. She loved the outdoors, beaches, walking, exercising, and being a super mom, wife, daughter, sister and aunt. At work, she was a valued employee at Sears Holding Apparel in San Francisco.
She is survived by her husband, Buford; daughter, Lauren; sons, Barron and Bryan; father and stepmother, William and Soon Lipp; along with many sisters and brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews. She joins her three siblings, Julie Kohls, Barbara Smith, Bill Lipp, her mother and step dad, Carole and Earl Robertson.
Leanne, I am so grateful to have had grown up with you. You were always nice to me, a gentle spirit and always loving and kind to everyone. I will always remember all the memories we shared and the good times we had together as girlfriend and my team mate on the gymnastics team. I love you. You will always be in my heart. Nina
