Lasting Memories

Lisa Layne
April 8, 1956-March 11, 2023
Larkspur, California

Lisa Layne passed away peacefully on March 11, 2023, in Larkspur, California, surrounded by love and family. She was born and raised in Palo Alto, graduating from Cubberley High School with the class of 1974. Lisa was a National Merit Scholar, excellent gymnast, cheerleader, Junior Olympic diver, highly talented in Modern Dance, and a superb skier. She attended UC San Diego and graduated from University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Behavior. Lisa was a born leader who brought amazing energy and enthusiasm to all pursuits, including The Layne Group — her organizational and executive coaching company with many Fortune 500 clients. Lisa’s proudest accomplishment was being Mom to her beloved son, Jason. She was hands-on in his educational and extracurricular activities in Larkspur and at USC. Lisa loved to entertain, go on long hikes, and dive into the pool with friends and family. She was brilliant, creative, fierce, compassionate, adventurous, and full of life — her loving spirit immediately visible in her sparkly eyes. Personally, she strove to improve herself every day. As a dear friend and entrepreneur, she sought to bring out the best in others. Lisa is survived by her husband Richard Silberman, son Jason Silberman, brother Kendall Layne, sisters Susan Layne and Julia McClain, nephews Joshua Layne, Tyler Layne, and Alex Anstead, along with the large Silberman family of San Diego. Lisa was predeceased by her parents, Donald Layne and Laurie Layne. Lisa’s unique, joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her name be a blessing.
