Lasting Memories
Mark Allan Snyder
May 6, 1953-Sept. 30, 2013
Rocklin, California
During the early morning of Sept. 30, 2013, Mark Allan Snyder passed away peacefully at home in Rocklin, surrounded by his loving family.
A Bay Area native, born in San Francisco on May 6, 1953, to Raymond and Dorothy Snyder, he was raised in Palo Alto and attended Cubberley Sr. High School ('71). Mark continued his education at Humboldt State University where he met his future wife, Kristen Combs. They married in 1983 and soon welcomed their first son, Adam, to be followed by a second son, Jacob. Ever the ardent parent, Mark enjoyed many years of his boy's sporting events, from little league through high school and on to the college ranks. A contractor by trade, he is known as a master craftsman. Evidence of his fine work can be seen throughout Northern California.
Mark was a caring man with a quick wit, a contagious laugh and an enormous passion for the things he believed in. A philosopher, a teacher, a gentle spirit has been taken from us too soon.
Mark is survived by his wife, Kristen, his two sons, Adam and Jacob, his mother, Dorothy Snyder and his 11 siblings and their families: Regis Snyder (Rosi), Paul Snyder, Bob Snyder, Susan Santy, Richard Snyder, Terri Bentovoja (Marc), Kathleen Snyder Paye (John), Patti Snyder Park (John), Jack Snyder (Kristi), Jackie Good (Garrett), and Kristin Snyder; as well as numerous nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles, cousins, in-laws and many dear friends. Mark is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Louis Snyder.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held in North Lake Tahoe on Oct. 26.
Mark, we will miss you every day and we will love you forever.
"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose. For what we love deeply becomes a part of us." -Helen Keller
