Dr. Roger Marsh Wagner, M.D., beloved physician in the Stanford medical community for over 50 years, died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Sequoia Hospital.
He was 83 years old. Born and raised in South Pasadena, California, he moved to Northern California and graduated from Stanford in 1952. He then began his medical education and career at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School.
He graduated from Medical School in 1956 and completed his internship at Geisinger Memorial Hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Wagner served his country as a general practitioner in the US Navy from 1957 ? 1959.
He completed his three-year Residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford Hospital in 1962. Dr. Wagner was awarded an NIH Fellowship in Endocrinology and Nephrology at Stanford Hospital. He then practiced Internal Medicine for 50 years on the Mid-Peninsula.
He and Roz Wagner (Stanford '53) raised their children in Menlo Park. All three children graduated from Stanford, proudly continuing their father?s legacy: Rad Marsh Wagner ('77), Kerry Wagner Weisser ('78), and Megan Wagner ('82). He was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He dedicated his life to patient care, through healing and eradicating suffering. He made significant contributions to the medical field. He will be truly missed.
