Lasting Memories

Steven Dean Cabral
Feb. 5, 1962-April 26, 2010
Santa Clara, California

Steve died at his Santa Clara home of undetermined cause, at age 48, as confirmed by the coroner on April 26, 2010. Born in Palo Alto, California, on Feb. 5, 1962, he was predeceased by parents, Herbert and Eleanor Cabral; and is survived by family all residing in California: siblings, Carolyn Mazenko (Max) of Carmel Valley, Nancy Cabral-Casterson (David) of Aptos, and Bruce Cabral (Kimberly Harney) of Menlo Park, plus eight nieces and nephews.

Affectionately called "Skippy" or "Mad Dog," Steve was a beloved colleague and friend, a competitive sportsman who loved cars, boating and travel, especially in Hawaii, and whose Lockheed flight engineering career focused on missile defense systems (THAAD) -- yes, a rocket scientist! Following Gunn H.S., he graduated cum laude in 1985 in electrical engineering at University of the Pacific. He was at once brilliant and soft-spoken, a gentle person and little brother who will be greatly missed.
