Thomas Francis Horan Jr., 55, earned his eternal wings July 2nd at 10:02am in his home surrounded by loved ones. He shared 29 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Melanie Therese Horan.
Born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, Tom Horan was the son of Thomas and Mary Ellen Horan. Formerly of Mountain View, Tom graduated from Saint Francis High School in 1979. He then went on to graduate from San Jose State University with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1984. Tom was a retired Commander in the U.S Navy where he faithfully served the country for 22 years, and was an admired Captain with Southwest Airlines for 19 years.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, running, grilling and above all, flying. He will be remembered for his generosity, kind spirit, taking care of everyone and of course making sure everyone was having a good time.
He is survived by wife Melanie, Daughters; Blythe, son in law Rene, Brooke, Devin & Chloe, Grandchildren; Bristol, Rush and Beckett, Father; Thomas, Siblings: Michael (Terri), Jeanne (Mike) & Mary (Steve). Tom has many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.
Tom’s celebration of Life will be held on July 14th, 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 7801 Bay Branch Drive The Woodlands, Texas 77382.
