Lasting Memories

Warren Jack Kidder
July 18, 1935-April 6, 2014
Grass Valley, California

Warren Jack Kidder, 75, sadly has passed on April 6 of this year. He was born July 18, 1935, in Palo Alto and attended Mayfield School, Jordan Jr. High and Palo Alto High Schools. "Jack" was employed by the County of San Mateo as a draftsman for 12 years before he became part owner with Elmer Berliner, changing the name of the business to Berliner, Kidder and bringing in Stan Tish many years later to their Real Estate Appraisers business in Palo Alto on Lytton Avenue.

Jack lectured at Stanford occasionally and was past president of the MAI of Real Estate Appraisers in the Western United States. Jack donated time coaching Little League with the downtown Palo Alto Optimist when his boys were on the teams and his wife ran concessions. Jack also was an Elk member of Palo Alto.

Jack spent the last few years of life semi-retired in Grass Valley, Calif. He loved gardening and grew beautiful roses in his gardens.

Jack was the son of Cedric Warren Kidder and Eithel Kidder of Palo Alto both who preceded him in passing in 1979 and 2001, respectively. His father was a Palo Alto Fireman and his mother worked for Hewlett-Packard and lived most all their lives in Palo Alto.

He was married to Charlotte Ann Mederios who preceded him along with his two sons, James Kidder and Thomas Eugene (Gene), into heaven. He has one surviving daughter, Darryl Sue Kidder of Depo Bay, Ore.; a sister, Geraldine Kidder Kinyon of Palo Alto; one Aunt Elizabeth Jones Wonacott of Redwood City and several cousins and friends. He was an uncle to Jonathan, Lori, Christopher and Charles (C.C.) Kinyon; and godfather to Tracy Ann Barrick Treos of Santa Rosa, Calif.

I FONDLY REMEMBER SHINING HIS SHOES WHEN I was In grade school, 25 cents a pair, and folding the batches of the Palo Alto newspapers into little squares for his delivery route. One of the hardest things I atempted was to try in life was to teach him how to dance. He liked the bop dance ( circa 1956) and never got much further). ;) Have missed you my brother... Geraldine
