I didn't know Lilo for long but I counted her as one of my dearest friends. Her kindness to me and the generous hospitality from George and Lilo made our year in Caledornia one we will never forget. I really loved Liloand am so sorry she is no longer with us. I would dearly love to come to Gamble Gardens for one last time to celebrate her life. Alas that is not possible but I will be thinking of her especially, on 24th November.

I'll always remember weekends at LBI with the Lake Valhalla Garden Club. Lilo was a great hostess & we had many laughs enjoying the hot tub. Being a chaperon for Montville ski club children was also a challenge but Lilo was always in charge. What a great friend! Iris

I thought so much of Lilo. She helped me settle in the U.S. and was always willing to offer her advice - something I sought often over my first few years in this country. I loved her straightforward nature, her kindness, generosity and sense of humor. What a wonderful lady. Peter and I send our love to George and the family.
