Dear Bill, I treasure your solid guidance over the many years, like a deep keel, that has helped me shape my life. Thank you for sharing with me your Sierra, your burros and your cocktail hour around the campfire. I will miss your advice and your relentlessly irreverent humor. I'll take comfort in knowing you're leading the way across some majestic, remote, rocky divide.
Thank you Bill, for helping me recognize I could have an academic/professional life and ride the mountain trails at the same time. You helped me believe in myself and improve my life in ways I can't begin to express. I'm so glad the horses got away from us in Wright Creek that night - we'll be telling that one for a long time. Love you.
