Christine Roma Griner

Christine Griner, 88, died on Feb. 7, 2016. She was born in Los Angeles in 1927 and spent her early years in the Altadena foothills. She graduated from Stanford in 1948 and went on to earn a Ph.D. in sociology from Radcliffe in 1961. She left her nascent teaching career to dedicate herself to raising her two sons, returning to Palo Alto in 1979. She was a member of the Bahá'í community, volunteered at the U.N. Store and loved to take long walks at the Baylands. She leaves her two sons, Tom and Robert, as well as nieces and nephews in California and British Columbia.

A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, Feb. 28, at noon at the Greenhouse clubhouse, 777 San Antonio Road, Palo Alto
