Karen Lynn Grossman, age 66, passed away at home on Friday morning, June 10, 2011, after battling breast cancer.

Beloved mother to Emily and mother-in-law to Scott, friend, and sister, she had lived in Los Altos since 1976. Born in New York City on September 3, 1944, she spent her first years in Manhattan and later moved to Elmont, New York. She received a B.A. From Curry College and an. M.S from Adelphi University.

Karen worked in many fields. Most recently, she ran a professional organizing business and taught deep-water running. In the past, she had worked as a special education teacher.

Karen was an active member of many social circles. She made friends everywhere she went, including in her classes at the Y, her many knitting groups and her networking group.
